Please can any one help.Is it bad to customize the Dell XPS studio 16 to make it more of a gaming computer?I just looked, that laptop is waaayyyy overpriced, and is NOT a gaming computer. The graphics cards are not for that. I really think dell is overpriced, I like costco, you can customize an HP, you want an ati thats at least a 4600 or higher or nvidia 9600-9800 or 130m gt. CPU can be 2.4 and still be perfect.Is it bad to customize the Dell XPS studio 16 to make it more of a gaming computer?My Studio XPS 16 has 4gb of memory, with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3670, RGBLED screen and it is veeeeeeeeeeery good with games. I've had 3 HPs and each and every one has had numerous problems. 2 of my HPs wifi died along with 2 of my friends. Hinge problems, etc

Is it bad to customize the Dell XPS studio 16 to make it more of a gaming computer?yes, the xps studio 16 will play games. i have one and i play COD world at war, crisis (almost maxed is a little jumpy but can play with great resolution) i only have 4 GB ram, which is really high because its the new DDR3. the m1730 only has DDR2. so 4 GB DDR3 is like 6 GB DDR2. future more it looks way better. it has a sleek leather back, and has shiny aluminum all over it. i also only have the Intel Core 2 Duo T9550 (6MB cache/2.66GHz/1066Mhz FSB). the 2.66 is over clockable. you will not need the 2.93 GHz. it is way to much money for what you get. with all my accessories and perks to the XPS studio 16 it came to 2,263 dollars, and when i compared the m1730 it came to 2,174 dollars. personally i would go with the XPS studio 16. go to youtube and look at some reviews and see some games played on the ATI Mobility RADEON HD 3670. you will see that it will handle alot. and FYI for those who think the 3670 is a lot worse than the 9600. goto notebook reviews. it is slightly less. :)Is it bad to customize the Dell XPS studio 16 to make it more of a gaming computer?I have the Dell Studio XPS 16 with teh 8 GB Ram and the 2.93 processor and it totally FLIES. I'm sure at lower specs it would would run smoothly too. Try to get it in the Dell outlet, I got mine for under $1500.
It is a very respectable gaming computer with this configuration! I run COD 4 and it is awesome. Be sure to get the 1920x1080 screen. It is the most beautiful thing you have ever seen.
Word of caution, you will HAVE to get a laptop cooler if you are going to game with this thing, it gets really really hot (seriously, like burn the palm of your hand hot). And the battert life is a joke if you game of the battery.
I also run (just for fun) Sims 2 and it is super smooth and fast.
