How can i stop my Dell Latitude from freezing up?

I have an old Dell Latitude that constantly drops the signal and freezes up my computer when I use my Dell Truemobile 1300 PC Wireless Card. The card is in my PCMCIA slot; if i take it out and put it back in again it works for a few minutes, and then freezes up again. Is there any way i can fix this? Would changing the BIOS work? If so, how do I do it? How can i stop my Dell Latitude from freezing up?Upgrading the BIOS could definetly help.
