Is it safe to use an emachines restore disk on a dell?

I have an eMachines restore disk for a PC I bought, and I also have a dell laptop. Will the Emachines restore cd work on the Dell laptop or will it mess it up? The laptop already is messed up; which is why I am trying to use this restore CD.Is it safe to use an emachines restore disk on a dell?WHAT DO YOU THINK IS GOING TO HAPPEN IF YOU PUT A BICYCLE TIRE ON A CAR?



IT WON'T WORK. ACTUALLY YOU COULD DAMAGE SOME HARDWARE SINCE THE EMACHINES RESTORE CD INCLUDES DRIVERS SPECIFIC FOR THE EMACHINE AND NOT COMPATIBLE ON DELL. JUST DON'T DO IT OR EVEN TRY IT.

I've actually tried doing this before. Once I started up the computer, it told me that the disc wasn't compatible with my Dell computer. I have an Emachine, and the best thing I ever did was to rebuild it with a full install of XP Pro off a proper CD.

I've never tried it but i'd of assumed the restore disk is specific to the hardware of the computer, i.e. it will detect that the hard ware is different and stop you from restoring. Where's your Dell restore disk? :PIs it safe to use an emachines restore disk on a dell?it will not work for a dell it only works for a particular emachines model only.
