How to fix the scroll on my Dell Inspiron 1545 mouse pad?

I have a green Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop. When I first got it the scroll worked fine. Something was wrong with it and a guy had to come reload all of the hardware on it. I think when that happened it wasn't put on my laptop. Does anyone know what I have to do or what I have to download to get my scroll working again?
