If so follow this guide (ensure any precious data is backed up):
1. Insert Disc into drive
2. Wait for it to all load in (may take a long time)
3. Select the primary partition (should be C:\)
4. Select 'format' or similar (I forget what it looks like exactly)
5. Ignore any warnings, so long as you've backed up
6. Once done you'll have a blank hard drive, you'll need to reinstall vista with the disc

First insure you have the reinstall meda, without it your computer will become a very expensive paper weight untill you drop $200 (or more). The first step in a format is acessing the C:/ promp. Unfortuatly the only way I know to do this is to force the boot up to fail... sorry, I know its barbaric but it works. You can eather attmpt to boot from an invalid source (a blank disk or something), then manually type C:/FORMAT C: or trust the install softwares format feature. (just insert the OS disk and tell it to format) Frankly I dont trust the in OS format, but thats just me. After all this you reinstall your preferred OS and start computing all over again. But not hard, just a lot of clicking and hitting buttons.
1. Load your system disk into your cd/dvd player
2. restart computer
3. on system startup, look for a "boot" option. most of the time it is F2
4. Boot from disk
5. follow the prompts for reformating (this will take a while)
6. Once windows is installed and set up you will need to get your drivers disk
7. Install all of the drivers that coencide with the equipment on your computer.
8. your done

If you need to ask what a format is, then you probably shouldn't do it.
If you are unfamiliar with installing operating systems and drivers, please get someone who has done it before to show you how, not tell you how.
