For about thepasr month or so i've been having trouble with my laptop so I decided to restore it to it's factory settings and when I did it froze on me and I suu off the power and did it ove a few times and now after I start my computer the Dell logo shows up and then the screen goes blank. How can I fix this? Is it my CPU? Is my computer totalled? If so, what is better, a mac or pc?How can I fix my unresponsive Dell inspiron 1521 notebook?Don't listen to that guy that told you to smash your computer. It sounds like either a bad hard drive or a corrupt OS (operating system).
1. Go to dell's website and download the Dell Diagnostic 1337 file and burn it to a cd.
2. Insert the Dell Diag cd into your computer.
3. Start your computer and hit F12 when you see the Dell splash screen.
4. This will load a boot-menu select "CD/DVD"
5. Select Test System
6. Select Custom Test
7. Click Non-interactive test only and 1 pass
If the Dell Diagnostic fails go to Gateway's website and download GWSCAN. Repeat steps for the GWSCAN file
*The Dell Diagnostic disk will test your computer's hardware. The GWSCAN (Gateway Scan) is a hard drive test and repair kit. This test can fix bad sectors on your hard drive. If the Dell Diag passes then your OS is corrupt. If it is then:
1. Insert the recovery disk that came with your computer. If none came with your computer go to Dell's website and download the Recovery Disk ( http://support.dell.com/support/topics/g鈥?/a> ).
Good Luck. How can I fix my unresponsive Dell inspiron 1521 notebook?Well I am thinking you have a virus plain and simple and even though you restored your computer, it is possible the virus is still there. Unless it is hardware problem. My guess is that you will have to take it to someone who can trouble shoot the problem at this point. And if you don't want to do that...get out a hammer and crush it, then pull out your check book and buy a new one. (real bummer I know)
If you choose the latter...check out http://www.newegg.com
for great computers with excellent prices.
Good Luck! ;-)
