Dell Dimension 4700 goes to sleep mode on cold start-up?

I'm running XP on the Dell. After computer has been powered down ( as in over night ) and when I power it up, it starts as normal then suddenly goes into hybernation or sleep mode. I have to then shut power down to the computer. Eventually after several tries I can get it to "stick" to its normal start-up routine. I already have hybernate ticked off in the power management options in Control Panel. Any suggestions?Dell Dimension 4700 goes to sleep mode on cold start-up?I think there's something wrong with your hardware I would get that looked at if it's under warranty from dell just to be safe. That doesn't sound normal at all. Software shouldn't cause that problem. What you can also do just to test it out. Remove the battery and run your laptop just by the ac and see if that does the same thing. That way you can determine if it's the battery causing problems.

hope that helps
