Where you also very shocked and disgusted when the writers killed off Captain America..?

Is it me, am I alone in this...I have not been a comic book reader since my late teens however I know that youngsters and adults alike still ead comics...which is fine.

I also believe that even a fictional charachter (like U.S. Uncle Sam charachter) can also envoke feelings of pride and patriotism...so also can comic book charachters...

Captain America about more than any other charachter symbilized America..his red white and blue costume, his shield with the same colors of the American flag....

....then to see him lying dead, killed by some two bit assasin..on the steps of a building with blood running down the steps was really a shock.

....do you think the people at Marvel have just tried to sell out the American spirit...trying to please those who dislike our country.

....should the marvel creators give this country a big apology for the insanity or stupidity....please tell me what you think.Where you also very shocked and disgusted when the writers killed off Captain America..?
Captain American was not the all encompassing mascot for America - he represented a time when America had a different kind of patriotism. He represented a nation where the people and the government had a clear a defined enemy.

His death could mean a lot of things. One possibility is that the writers felt that true patriotism was gone. If you read the comic, you'd realize that the government wanted all super heros to register - which is not unlike some practices of our current government. Captain America refused to register because he was convinced that by doing so would be a violation of every freedom that he'd sworn to protect.

Just because you hate how the country is being run doesn't mean you hate the country. If the writers killed them off to illustrate a political point, then you should be happy that we live in a country where they are free to do so.
I am still in shock that they did that.Where you also very shocked and disgusted when the writers killed off Captain America..?
no. i was not.
no se put in.Where you also very shocked and disgusted when the writers killed off Captain America..?
They killed Superman too, didn't they? But he managed to come back.

MARKETING PLOY

Truthfully, I don't really give a rat's "you-know-what".
Well, Captain America embodies the American ideals, not the government, there's always been a very clear distinction there. Personally I think they just wanted to sell comic books. Besides, Marvel brings characters back to life all the time. Just look at X-Men's Jean Grey, she's died more times than I care to remember.
