How do you transfer files from an XP Dell Dimension 3000 to a Vista Dell Inspiron 1525?
I'm getting a Dell Inspiron 1525 for Christmas and i was wondering how i could transfer all of my music files from the XP to the Vista. I dont want to use CDs or e-mail. Is there anyway i could send all 700 of my songs to these different computers? How do you transfer files from an XP Dell Dimension 3000 to a Vista Dell Inspiron 1525?assuming that those are both just ur typical dells, they may or may not have ethernet cable inputs (fat-looking phone cord input). if they do, you just need to connect that cable (a networking cable) to b oth computers, then run the file and setting transfer wizard. if the networking cable is not applicable, then rigg both computers into a private wireless network. then make both computers "discoverable". this will allow each computer's' hard drive or hard disk to show up in the network's "workgroup" window. from there, you can cut and paste the files you want off and onto the specified computer. thats all i know - i hope it was helpfull, and good luck. How do you transfer files from an XP Dell Dimension 3000 to a Vista Dell Inspiron 1525?Vista has a program called Easy Transfer. It works great. You need to buy the transfer cable separately.
