these are the metals that are key in marvel comics. My friend and i are having a debate whether adamantium (wolverine's claws) or vibranium (captain america's shield) are stronger. We dont know and our debate is going nowhere can somebody help?Vibranium vs adamantium (Marvel comics)?
Adamantium is an attempt to reconstruct the steel alloy that happened with the original Captain America shield. It is close to indestructable, and can pretty much cut anything _but_ that original shield. As was mentioned, nobody kept track of how the vibranium and steel got alloyed the first time, so for the most part Adamantium is a "close second" at best.
Vibranium is an exotic, alien metal. It may or may not even be on the mainstream, earthly Periodic Table of Elements. For the most part it only exists on Earth (in the Marvel Universe), in Wakanda, and is known primarily for its energy-absorbing capabilities. The stuff is impervious to heat, corrosion, electricity and magnetism to extremes, but on a physical level it's a relatively soft metal. Closer to aluminum than steel on a purely physical level.
So basically you'll hear of vibranium alloys more than the pure metal itself, at least outside of Wakanda.
Hope this helps.Vibranium vs adamantium (Marvel comics)?
No.
Taken from Marvel Wikia:
"Adamantium is a very dense, artificial, iron-based alloy that is virtually indestructible. A sufficient amount is capable of surviving multiple nuclear explosions with no damage. A pure blade of Adamantium is capable of cutting almost any known substance, with the known exceptions of Adamantium itself and Captain America's shield. The ability to slice completely through a substance with an Adamantium blade depends upon the amount of force being exerted and the density of the material in question."Vibranium vs adamantium (Marvel comics)?
Captain Americas Shield is a mix of Vibranium laced with Steel and an unkown bond (the scientist fell asleep so never saw what happened) and is stronger than adamantium, as it was a by product of scientists trying to recreate Cap's shield, its extremely durable but not as much as Cap's shield.
Does Captain america shield contain both!??
