Which is stronger Captain America's Shield or Adamantium?

Cap's shield is said to be the strongest material known in the Marvel universe. Cap's shield is made from a fusion of vibranium with an experimental steel alloy (not adamantium-vibranium as sometimes erroneously stated). This alloy was created by accident and never duplicated, although efforts to reverse-engineer it resulted in the creation of adamantium.

Cap's shield is stronger. There have been other shields created, one made of pure vibranium and one made of pure adamantium. But neither were as strong as the original.
