Could Captain America use his shield kill wolverine by decapitation.?

Could Captain America use his shield kill wolverine by decapitation. Someone in the office says he could as his shield is stronger than adamantium, so in effect he could take his head off with it thus killing him.Could Captain America use his shield kill wolverine by decapitation.?
Cap's sheild could decap Wolverine (assuming Cap could decap anyone at all with it...), but he would have to hit between the vertebrae, which with Wolverine's enhanced reflexes and agility, would not be easy if he were conscious.



The real question is: Would decapitation actually kill Wolverine? In one Marvel universe, it did seem to work on Sabertooth, whose power is identical to Wolverine. However, in another universe, Prof X has speculated that even if you did remove Wolverine's head, the head and body would somehow work to bring themslves back together, heal the wound, and Wolverine would then revive.
Unlikely, it's not an issue of the strength of the shield or Logan's shiny metal coating, but a matter of sharpness and velocity.



Cap's shield doesn't have a very sharp edge, seeing as he can pinball it off a dozen Nazis and have it keep going. Plus it's not flat so it'd only go so far in before slamming into his adamantium.



If Cap decided he'd had enough of old Wolverine and tried to make him even shorter, he'd:



A: Hit him in just the right spot and nick the spine between vertebrae.

Or

B: It'd slam full force into one of the armored bones in his neck and break it inside the adamantium, but that wouldn't keep him down for long.Could Captain America use his shield kill wolverine by decapitation.?
No it is not stronger than Adamantium. Cap's shield is made of steel and Vibranium. Adamantium was created as a result of trying to reproduce Cap's shield.



Adamantium is the strongest metal in the Marvel Universe.



But to answer your question, it's possible...the shield edge would have to hit exactly at the right spot between Wolverine's vertibrae that is not covered in adamantium..
Actually, I think there was an issue, maybe the first "What If" comic series, where someone wrote in this exact question.. the writers said that the shield was strong enough to do it, but Cap wasn't strong enough to do it...Could Captain America use his shield kill wolverine by decapitation.?
Very unlikely considering Wolverine has a healing factor and although Cap's shield is tough, I dont see it being tough enough to decapitate Wolverine.
