No, because in his world, these metals do not existHas Tony Stark ever made an armor of adamantium or of the same elements in Captain America's shield?
The simple answer is no because it is very difficult to work with. Take the shield of Captain America, it is just a shield, simple flattened dome shape. Wolverine was injected with Adamantium and it formed to his skeleton and claws. He barely survived the process and when Magneto rips it out of him he barely survived that also.
Its much easier to work with stronger alloys that are nearly the strength of Adamantium, of course in ancient greek Adamant was the word for Iron so Adamantium is really just a composite of Iron.Has Tony Stark ever made an armor of adamantium or of the same elements in Captain America's shield?
Adamantium is an artificial Vibranium. Captain Americas shield is a Vibranium-iron alloy, which is not pure Vibranium. Both are unstable and difficult to manufacture and synthesize.
Adamantium - Despite its utility in the creation of armament and/or armature, adamantium is rarely used due to extreme cost, poor reliability and inability to be reshaped. Due to this and the secrecy around the formula few attempts are made to synthesize it.
Vibranium-iron alloy - During the early 1940s, a small amount of Wakandan Vibranium which was rumored at the time to exist came into the possession of the young scientist Dr. Myron MacLain. He used the material while experimenting on iron alloys for use as tank armor which resulted in the accidental creation of the ultra-resilient Vibranium-iron alloy that was later used in the construction of Captain America's Shield. Although McClain's experiments on Vibranium failed to discover a method of synthetically producing Vibranium, it was far from fruitless. In the late 1960s Dr. McClain's research on Vibranium resulted in the invention of a process that created an artificial alloy which was almost as strong as genuine Wakandan Vibranium, though not quite, but which was still stronger than any previously known metal except true Vibranium. However, although "artificial Vibranium" wasn't quite as strong as the real thing, it could be produced in mass quantities (albeit in a very expensive process), without the need to rely on the minute amounts that were being discreetly sold from Wakanda by T'Chaka. This "artificial Vibranium" was thus deemed adequate enough to go into production, and was re-christened "Adamantium", which would be used extensively by the advanced projects divisions of several national militaries (and terrorist groups that could obtain the technology).Has Tony Stark ever made an armor of adamantium or of the same elements in Captain America's shield?
Yes, sort of...
Sometime after the Extremis transformation, during an attack by the new Super-Adaptoid, Tony Stark realized he could command several armors at once. Building on this, and realizing the world was becoming an increasingly dangerous place, he decided to construct a "team" of Iron Men鈥攈yper-advanced drones that would be under his direct mental command, just as his own armored body. Unfortunately, the "Argonauts" were abused and destroyed before they ever could serve for good. They included:
"Adamantium Man": equipped with practically indestructible "Stark-Chobham" armor, an experimental composite of carbon nanotube-reinforced ceramics, laced with adamantium.
It would be very unlikely for him to make armor with the same elements as Capt. America's shield - which is a combination of adamantium and vibranium. The man who created the shield, Dr. Myron McLain, was looking for a way to combine the two metals for the best combination of strength and durability -
Supposedly, he fell asleep during the experiments, and when he woke up the two metals had somehow combined - he quickly poured the mixture into a disc-shaped mold, forming what would later be Capt. America's shield, but he was never able to duplicate the process.
Hmmm...it seems like this fact was "corrected" (changed) recently. In the comics I grew up with, Capt. America's shield was made of adamantium + vibranium. Now it's listed as a vibranium-iron alloy mix.
Either way, attempts to duplicate the formation of Cap's shield have never worked - his shield is unique.
Joseph P.'s answer doesn't make sense - there's no way "artificial vibranium" could have been re-named Adamantium, and still be "not as strong" as real vibranium.
Adamantium is simply THE strongest metal in the fictional Marvel Universe. Vibranium isn't as strong, but has unique properties that allow it (and Cap's shield) to absorb vibrations, like from strong impacts. Adamantium has no such absorbing property.
