How does Captain America survive the crash in the movie?

Excuse me for being slow or something, and I know that with comic books and everything they tend to revive characters, but uh so in the movie Captain America doesn't die? How does he survive? My friend thinks he froze and they found him or something, but that sounds kind of off to me, In the comics though, he dies right? And then they randomly inexplicably tossed him in to other stories? or no. Haha I must have not been paying too much attention in the beginning of the movie, I didn't realize that them finding the shield was "present day". In that case, what the heck! Why didn't they search for the plane earlier? Although, maybe they did and that's why he's been "sleeping" in that room. They could have at least taken the one of a kind vibranium shield -_-. Yeah I don't get that. And Stark and everyone act all disappointed like when they don't find him when they find the cube. So do they do find him though and just not tell anyone? He did indeed freeze. This is also what happened to Cap in the comics. Albeit he was revived in the 60s originally. But the beginning of the film is present day, and you see the shield buried in the thick ice. That's when the story changes to the 1940s. When the plane crashed, it sunk into the Arctic Ocean where it presumably stayed underwater until eventually coming to the surface in an iceberg. Cap was somehow frozen in a suspended animation state until being revived in modern times.How does Captain America survive the crash in the movie?
No he freezes. He survives the crash but the plane sinks a little into the water and he freezes. You friend is correct.
