In the upcoming Captain America: The First Avenger movie (out next summer) there's a point where Cap turns to Tony Stark's father Howard, a techo genius and co-founder of SHIELD, for help with upgrading his battle gear, and Stark creates the shield for him.



Beyond this, not much has been said about Howard Stark's involvement in the CA:TFA flick, but in the comics Cap at one point falls into suspended animation in the arctic, and is later found by The Avengers. And since in the Marvel films show us Tony Stark is now in possession of Cap's shield, it's likely that in the upcoming Avengers movie, after they find Cap frozen in the arctic, Stark will at some point repair the shield and pass it back to Cap.About an an hour and 22 minutes into Iron Man, Is that the Captain America shield?
